About Me

Hello ♥

I created selfcompassionate.com to help women heal and recover from infidelity. My intention is to give you all the tools and resources that once helped me, a formerly “betrayed” spouse.

As you may already know, healing from betrayal is not easy. It requires intense struggle and a period of time in which you grieve several losses: the loss of love, relationship, the person you thought you knew, and the person you used to be.

Starting over is difficult. Not only are you expected to hold it together, but you are also tasked with the heavy obligation of rebuilding your life while you are broken. Throughout your healing journey, it’s important to be kind, compassionate, and understanding towards yourself. Recovery doesn’t happen overnight. Recovery, unfortunately, takes time.

What is Self-Compassion?

Self-Compassion is the practice of showing yourself compassion, being mindful of your thoughts and feelings, and treating yourself as a friend.

In a self-compassion practice:

  • You acknowledge that you have been hurt or that you are suffering
  • You allow yourself to feel difficult emotions
  • You offer yourself unconditional love and acceptance
  • You speak kind, supportive, and encouraging words
  • And you realize that you are not alone. Others, in similar circumstances, are suffering too.

While navigating through the many layers of betrayal, heal at your own pace according to your timeline.

Give yourself compassion and be patient with the process.

I believe that when you’re ready, you’ll naturally make a positive shift towards personal transformation and growth, discovering strength you never thought you had.

This process, also known as post-traumatic growth, all starts with healing the relationship you have with yourself (giving yourself compassion) & reclaiming the person you’ve neglected for so long: You
